Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
Astro Box is a Vedic astrology app: it calculates your kundli and panchang, and answers questions about your chart. This page explains exactly what we hold, why we hold it, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
- Your account — name, email address, and your password stored only as a bcrypt hash. We never see or store the password itself.
- Your birth details — date, time and place of birth, and the coordinates of that place. A kundli cannot be calculated without them.
- Your questions — the questions you ask and the answers you are given, so the conversation is still there when you come back and so your daily allowance is counted for you rather than for whoever shares your network.
- Payments — the plan, amount, date and the payment reference. Card, UPI and bank details never reach us; they are entered on Razorpay's own checkout.
Who else sees it
- Anthropic — when you ask a question, that question and the calculated positions from your chart are sent to Anthropic's Claude model to write the answer. Your name, email and payment details are not sent.
- Razorpay — processes payments and holds the payment details you enter there, under its own privacy policy.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
Adverts
The app shows adverts. They are our own, served as plain images from our own server. There is no ad network, no advertising SDK, no advertising ID, and no third-party tracker — nothing about you is sent anywhere to decide which advert you see. Everyone sees the same rotation.
We count how many times an advert was shown and tapped. Those are totals for the advert; they are not linked to your account or to you.
Paid plans have no adverts at all.
How long we keep it
Your account and birth details are kept until you delete your account. Questions and answers are kept until then too. Payment records are kept after deletion because a record of money taken is needed for accounting and for any refund or dispute — but the email is removed from them, so the record no longer identifies you.
Deleting your account
Two ways, both permanent and neither needing you to ask us:
- In the app: Profile → Delete account.
- On the web, without installing anything: astrobox.in/delete-account.
Security
All traffic is over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Anything that costs money or belongs to one person — asking a question, downloading your report, your chat history — requires you to be signed in.
Children
Astro Box is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18, since it sells subscriptions.
A note on the astrology itself
Everything here is for guidance and interest. It is not medical, financial or legal advice, and should not replace a professional.
